Meet Dr. Hylke
doctor of 15 years | Huisarts (UvA)
I have been a family doctor for 15 years and enjoy my work every single day.
In recent years I’ve delved deeper into women’s health, particularly fertility and menopause.
I dedicate my work to helping women navigate health challenges that arise at different stages of life. I aim to bring clarity, relief, and understanding to their symptoms. Besides enjoying this immensely, I also like to raise awareness about women’s health.
I look forward to meeting you!

Hi, I'm Julia. The human behind Athena.
I wanted clarity
I wanted to understand my fertility, not because I was trying for a baby, but because I wanted clarity before it became urgent. What I found instead was resistance, waitlists, and 'come back later'. The truth is, women are having kids later. The average age for a first-time mom in the Netherlands is 30.3. Yet no one’s really talking to the women in the middle - the ones who are curious, planning ahead, or simply want to know what’s going on with their bodies.
We deserve access to information before things get complicated. That’s why Athena exists.
